The Middle School Bowling Sectional was held last Wednesday, with a pair of local bowlers taking top honors. The bowlers had to battle not only their competitors, but also some tough lane conditions. DANVILLE -- The Greencastle boys' golf team defeated Crawfordsville and North Putnam Tuesday night. The Tiger Cubs scored 162 to win, with Crawfordsville scoring 173 for second and North Putnam was third with 220. Greencastle got a huge performance from Luke Crimmins. Harley Eugene "Gene" Scott, 72, of Plainfield died Monday, May 4, 2009 at Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis. He was born Aug. 2, 1936 in Morgan County, the son of Carney Scott and Irene Wright Scott. He was a 1954 graduate of Monrovia High School. Mr. Scott was director of safety claims with the Indianapolis Public Transportation Corp., where he worked from 1964 until his retirement in 1994.
