The South Putnam softball team picked up a win against North Putnam Thursday night at home 2-0. The squads battled for four scoreless innings, until Katelyn Sibbitt drove in the only runs the Eagles would need on the night. Sarah Burnham pitched a complete game, allowing four hits, while collecting eight strikeouts. Her counterpart Taylor Judy tossed nine strikeouts and allowed four hits...

The North Putnam boys track team recorded seven first place finishes against Speedway and Cascade. Jerrett Ban was first in the 100 meter dash in a time of 11.5 and in the long jump with a jump of 22-feet-5.5-inches. The distance in the long jump set a North Putnam record...

Donovan Wheeler's Greencastle High School boys' golf team picked up its ninth win of the season and remained undefeated, but the look on his face told a different story. Greencastle won the three-way against Monrovia and Cascade with a score of 165. CLOVERDALE -- Ray E. Strange, 74, Poland, died Thursday, May 7, 2009 at his residence. Mr. Strange was born in Greencastle on Oct. 8, 1934 and was the son of the late Fred Oscar and Stella Louise Gentry Strange. He was the founder and minister of the Country Junction Mission and Galilee Church Ministry in Poland.
