Putnam County Head Start full day and year program was in need of small chairs. Several parties came together to meet the need. Sherwood Christian Church donated chairs, Mike Summitt repaired the chairs and the Republican Women's Club by donated the material. Chester "Chet" Adams Trout, 90, of Grand Ledge, Mich. died Thursday, July 2, 2009. He was born April 6, 1919 in Fillmore, Indiana to Mossie Manetta Brown and Luther Ernest Trout. On June 17, 1943 he was united in marriage to Mary Jane Klahn. He served in the Army during World War II in the 1550th service and command unit, medical section at Fort Knox station hospital as an optometrist from 1940 to 1945...

A kayaking accident on Van Bibber Lake resulted in one man being transported to the hospital Wednesday afternoon. Detective Patrick McFadden of the Putnam County Sheriff's Department told the Banner Graphic that an individual driving across the bridge at Van Bibber saw the two kayaks on the water with one overturned. The individual in the second kayak was yelling for help...
