HILLSBORO -- Myers Dinner Theatre will open the original musical comedy "A Dickens of a Christmas" on Friday, playing the show through Dec. 23. Vickie Rae Whitehead, 55, of Terre Haute, lost a her battle with cancer on Tuesday, Nov. 3, 2009 at Terre Haute Regional Hospital, surrounded by her loving family. Mrs. Whitehead loved yard sales, collecting knick-knacks, fishing, camping, horses and anything that involved being outdoors. Besides being a loving wife, mother and grandmother, she also worked as a retail clerk at Wal-Mart...

Grace M. Gardner, 97, of Greencastle died Tuesday, Nov. 3, 2009 at the Waters of Greencastle. She was born May 25, 1912, the daughter of Henry and Lidia Thompson Miller. Mrs. Gardner was a homemaker and a member of the First Christian Church. She is survived by her daughter, Becky A. Richards and husband Steve of Mechanicsburg, Pa.; three grandchildren, Kurt Richards and wife Carolyn, Kim Vickrey and husband Rolland and Kevin Richards; and six great-granddaughters...

GREENCASTLE -- A plea agreement has been proposed for a Poland man accused of stealing guns from a Putnam County home. Bobby Forey, 19, is charged with Class B felony burglary and Class D felony theft. If Putnam County Circuit Court Judge Matthew Headley accepts the plea agreement, Forey will be convicted of one Class C felony count of burglary, punishable by up to eight years in prison...

GREENCASTLE -- More than 15 local neighborhoods were trick or treated by 88 students and youth sponsors from Greencastle Christian Church's ONE80 youth group on Halloween night.
