The Cloverdale High School wrestling team finished 1-4 Saturday at Western Boone. The Clovers defeated Clinton Prairie 60-18, but lost to Western Boone 34-30, Tri-West 66-15, Frankfort 61-17 and Crawfordsville 53-16. Shawn Shipp finished the day 3-2 in the 112 pound class, while Tyler Carrell went 1-4 for the day at 119 and Tyler Howard finished 1-4 in the 125 pound division...

CLOVERDALE -- The Cloverdale girls' basketball team picked up a win against Eminence Monday 35-32. The Clovers held the Eels scoreless in the fourth quarter to secure the win. Holly McCammon led the way with nine points, followed by Sam Rightmyer with eight, Paige Guttierez with seven and Breegan Andersen with four points. Cedar Woodworth scored three and Paige Gruener and Elizabeth Wiley contributed two points each in the win...

LIZTON -- The North Putnam High School girls basketball team lost to Tri-West Tuesday night, 75-22. "Tri-West was on fire. They shot the ball extremely well from the perimeter and we were just a step too slow getting to their shooters," NPHS Coach Jim Brothers said. "We just didn't react defensively the way we wanted too."...

The Greencastle High School swim teams lost Tuesday to the Bloomington North. The boys lost 122-61, while the girls lost 127-57. Melissa Ball won two events for the Lady Tiger Sharks. She won the 50-yard freestyle with a time of 26.48 and the 100-yard freestyle in 59.17. Melanie Bittles also won for Greencastle. She finished first in the 100-yard butterfly with a time of 1:10.23...

ROACHDALE -- The North Putnam High School swim teams got their first win of the season Tuesday night when they dominated Owen Valley. The girls team won 87-62, while the boys won 82-44. "It was a pretty good day for us," NPHS coach Wesley Richardson said. "But I still think we need to work a little bit on our muscular and cardio endurance. We also still have some techniques we need to work on, but other than that I thought they did fairly well."...

GREENCASTLE -- An unkind iron and a rough first quarter held the South Putnam girls' basketball team on the ropes Tuesday when it faced South Vermillion. The Eagles fell 52-39, dropping their second straight and moving to 2-5 on the season. South Putnam head coach Debbie Steffy acknowledged following the contest that her team simply didn't show up to play...
