Bowling for Diapers successful

Alex Alleys, Putnam County's local bowling center, held several fundraisers throughout 2009 for the Healthy Families' Family Ties Storeroom. In all, Alex Alleys raised over $400 to purchase diapers for the program. The Storeroom offers families served in home visitation an opportunity to earn "baby bucks" to purchase necessary infant and toddler essentials for their children...

The Putnam County Sheriff's Department gets ready to deliver 58 holiday baskets to Putnam County families Tuesday. Donations received from the sheriff and sheriff's department, Wrighstman family, Mark and Valerie Abernathy, Larry and Nancy Price, Butler LP, Randy and Donna Nichols, George and Ruth Stultz, Bowling Moms and other anonymous donors made it all possible. Doris L. (Sutherlin) Tharp, 81, of Greencastle died Tuesday, Dec. 22, 2009 at St. Vincent Hospital in Indianapolis. Doris was born June 11, 1928 in Putnamville, the daughter of Roy and Lucy (Langdon) Sutherlin. Doris was a member of the Church of Christ in Cloverdale and was a member of the Cloverdale High School Class of 1946. She retired from P.R. Mallorys in 1980 after 20 years, and had previously worked at RCA in Indianapolis and the Angwell Curtain Factory...
