GREENCASTLE -- The South Putnam boys' track team hosted Lighthouse Christian and Eminence Thursday evening. The Eagles won with 81 points, while Lighthouse Christian was second with 44 and Eminence third with 25 points. Adam Masters won both the discus (129-7) and the shot put (44-8), while Trent Workman won the pole vault (9-6) and the high jump (4-8). Shea Arnold was victorious in the 3,200 with a time of 11:45 and Devon Buis won the long jump with a leap of 11-feet-11.5-inches...

The Greencastle Middle School softball team (1-1) defeated Danville Tuesday 10-3 Madi Fauvergue pitched three innings for the Tiger Cubs, earning four strikeouts and a walk. Shelby Earl pitched four innings, with four walks and nine strikeouts. Earl was also 2-for-2 at the plate with an RBI and a run scored, while Fauvergue, Kalah Reed, Danielle Thomas and Mirand Nuz all had a walk and a run scored...

Kappa Delta Phi sorority will host a style show on April 30 at 7 p.m. at the Greencastle Christian Church. GREENCASTLE -- A Bainbridge man has been convicted of attempted burglary, theft and being a habitual offender by a 12-member jury. Curtis Cash attempted to break into a home west of Heritage Lake, but was later identified by two neighbors who thought he looked suspicious. The neighbors called 911 and even gave a license plate number...

REELSVILLE -- On Saturday, more than 200 Indiana college students who are members of the Indiana Student Education Association and other volunteers will join forces to remodel Reelsville Elementary. "Some projects we hope to tackle include the remodel of the 1950s-era teacher's lounge, new paint in the gym, new paint to the outdoor basketball goals, some landscaping, repair to the school sign and some general housekeeping," said ISTA vice president and project coordinator Teresa Meredith...

Matt Winslow, left, Steve Bahr and Brad Grable with Duke Energy donate their time and equipment to set posts at Big Walnut Park Wednesday for a new scoreboard donated by friends and family of the late Brooke Cash. Ronald Brooke Cash was killed in a motorcycle accident July 7, 2007, at the age of 36. He was active in the Fillmore Youth League and a member of the 1986 Class A state championship football team at South Putnam High School, where he was a 1988 graduate. In addition, Greencastle Parks and Recreation Department received a second scoreboard for its softball field at Robe-Ann Park, donated by Chuck Schroeder.
