Georgia C. Bacon, 85, of Greencastle, passed away on Tuesday, June 21, 2011 at the Danville Regional Rehabilitation Center. She was born on Sept. 24, 1925 in Cloverdale and was the daughter of the late Andrew Jackson and Cora Dell (Lewis) Whitaker. She was a member of the Cloverdale Church of Christ and had been a cook and housekeeper for the Hendricks County Nursing Home...

With 2011 not yet half over, plans are already being laid for the 2012 Putnam County budget. The Putnam County Council will begin formally discussing the upcoming year with budget hearings in late August. At its Tuesday meeting, the council set Aug. 22 and 23 as dates to plan the 2012 budget. Commencing at 9 a.m. each day, this will be a pair of all-day meetings in which the council meets with each department head and reviews the entire county budget...

The Survivor with Character Camp has begun again at the Heritage Lake POA Clubhouse. Sandra Kay Cosner, 61, Greencastle, passed away on Tuesday, June 21, 2011. She was born on Oct. 3, 1949 in Greencastle to Fred E. Bunten and Lucille Jane Grimes Bunten. Sandy was a 1967 graduate of Fillmore High School. Surviving are her son, James Michael Cosner and fiancée Lisa King of Indianapolis; a grandson, Anthony James Cosner of Greencastle; three brothers, Ronnie Kent Bunten and wife Anita of Brownsburg, Steven Ray Bunten and wife Kelly of Fillmore and Carey Lee Bunten and wife Donna of Roachdale; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.. ...

Eula Mae Burks, 89, Mooresville, formerly of Greencastle, passed away on Wednesday, June 22, 2011 at Meadow Lakes Nursing Home. She was born Dec. 26, 1921 in Greencastle, the daughter of Winnie Lucille Knaur and William Arnold.
