Linda Merkel (left) of the Putnam County Youth Development Commission receives a check for $450 from Dorothy Wells, president of Putnam County Extension Homemakers. The donation to support Putnam County Coats for Kids is half of what was taken in at the second annual Halloween Festival which was planned and sponsored by Putnam County Extension Homemakers. The remaining half of the proceeds will go to the Putnam County Fair Board for programming to support local youth through 4-H.

The Cloverdale Wrestling Club will host its second annual Friendship Meet Saturday at 9 a.m. Cost for the event is free for wrestling and $1 for general admission. DONALDSON -- Greencastle senior Brandon Query has signed with the Ancilla College men's soccer team for the 2012 season. The midfielder is the first official signing of the year for Ancilla head coach James Drzewiecki. "Brandon is a great player to start our class off with," said Drzewiecki.
