On Saturday, March 17, the North Putnam Middle School seventh and eighth grade choir participated in the Indiana State School Music Association Vocal Organizational Contest at Cloverdale High School. The Dance Workshop will be celebrating National Dance Week and fitness April 20-29 with special Zumba classes ending with a flash mob. During the week the focus will be dance, fun and fitness while helping A-Way Home Shelter. A hip-hop fitness routine will be taught Monday through Thursday, April 23-26 at the Dance Workshop. Following a cancellation due to storms last weekend, Eggstock, the annual adult egg hunt in Robe-Ann Park, has been rescheduled for 8:30 p.m. Saturday, April 21. Cost is $10 and the hunt is on, even in the rain or mud. The real hunt of the night is for a cure. All proceeds from the event will be donated to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation...

CLOVERDALE -- The Cloverdale baseball team defeated North Putnam 2-1 Tuesday at home. Brian Dale recorded the win for the Clovers, allowing just one hit on the night. Cloverdale scored two runs in the bottom of the seventh inning to get the win. Cloverdale will travel to West Vigo today at 5 p.m., while North Putnam will travel to Covenant Christian today at 5:30 p.m...

BRAZIL -- South Putnam's boys' golf squad continued their blistering shooting Wednesday night, knocking off county foe North Putnam 161-178 at Oak Ridge. The Eagles were paced by Derek Chestnut, who took medalist honors with a round of 39, followed by a pair of 40's from Alex Kelly and Justin Berry. ROACHDALE -- Freshman Sabrina Surber pitched a six-hitter and blasted a two-run home run to lead North Putnam to a 9-1 victory over North Montgomery in a nonconference softball game Tuesday on the Cougars' field. At the end of Saturday's Dancing with the Putnam County Stars event, Kathy Asbell and Logan Kuhne were declared the winners of the dance competition. An ex-drama teacher's next role will be as the Greencastle High School principal. Jennifer Shepherd will bring more than two decades of teaching and administrative experience to GHS when school opens in August. "I'm looking forward to the challenge," Shepherd said. "I think there are some exciting things that can happen at Greencastle High School. I'm looking to inspire staff and students to create school spirit, sense of pride, and carry that momentum through to our academics."...
