Monnet Field the "Golden Boot" switched ownership from North Putnam to Greencastle as the host Tiger Cubs won a 3-0 decision during a penalty kick shoot out in girls' soccer. The first half of the game was evenly matched as the Tiger Cubs and Cougars battled back and forth over possession of the ball. Though both teams desperately wanted to put one in the back of the net, neither team was able to connect and the first half remained scoreless...

ROCKVILLE -- The South Putnam boys' tennis team lost to the Rockville Rox Tuesday 4-1. South Putnam's No. 1 doubles team of Trey Moore and Aaron Cole defeated Rockville's Chris Overpeck and Chance Baker 6-4, 6-4 for the Eagles' only win on the night...

CLAY CITY -- South Putnam and Cloverdale's cross country teams traveled to Clay City Thursday. South Putnam won the boys' meet with a score of 48, while Cloverdale finished seventh with a score of 167. The Tiger Cubs scored the extra periods only goal to come away with a 2-1 victory. After the Cougars tied the game 1-all in the second half, Greencastle was able to score the deciding goal with 3:51 to go in the first half of the overtime period...

STAFFORD, N.Y. -- Bob Bachorski remembered when his wife called him one morning in June 1974 to ask him what he did with all the handguns. FILLMORE -- The president of the Fillmore Town Council has volunteered his time and money to build a new salt storage facility for the town. Now he's asking his fellow residents for assistance. Despite a last-minute plea by his wife for leniency, a 68-year-old Greencastle man will likely face at least the next 10 years in prison and live the rest of his life registered as a sex offender.
