Come Away With Me, Lucille
(Local News ~ 10/03/12)
Passing motorists saw an unusual sight on North Jackson Street Tuesday afternoon. Dozens of Model T and Model A Fords, along with other automobiles from the early 1900s, were on a 100-mile cruise and stopped at the Putnam Inn for lunch. The drivers of the antique cars were undeterred by the cool, damp day, traveling like the cars' original owners would have -- bundled up. The group gathers in Parke County each year shortly before the Covered Bridge Festival for several days of tours. With Rockville as a home base, the cars take off in a different direction each day, starting on Saturday and concluding today. (Banner Graphic/JARED JERNAGAN)
