The Putnam County Commissioners recently proclaimed Saturday, March 16 to be Ag Day in Putnam County. Ag Day 2013 activities are planned at the Putnam County Fairgrounds Community Building, kicking off with the annual Ag Day breakfast at 8 a.m. Several events follow soon after breakfast at approximately 9 a.m., including the awarding of the Farm Family of the Year and the Friend of the Farmer. At around the same time, Cloverdale graduate and state FFA President Cameron Mann and South Putnam graduate and state FFA Secretary Katherine Spencer will give a presentation. The third Putnam County Farm Bureau Legislative Update will also take place during the festivities. The day will conclude with the Mini Farm Fest from 9:30 a.m.-noon. Ag Day coordinators (standing from left) Heather Poynter and Angela Mann were on hand Tuesday as Putnam County Commissioners David Berry, Nancy Fogle and Don Walton signed the proclamation.
