County Jail Several people have been booked into the Putnam County Jail recently. At 12:25 a.m. Thursday, Bruce Edward Schwomeyer, 56, Cloverdale, was arrested for operating while intoxicated. At 3:50 p.m. Amy Letrice Murphy, 29, Roachdale, was held at the jail for possession of marijuana, possession of paraphernalia and probation violation...

In 2004 Carol Anderson was taking care of her mother who had had a stroke. She needed reliable transportation for her mother. Anderson didn't find what she wanted. So she started her own company. The Indiana Regional Ambulance Service launched on Jan. 23 with Anderson at the helm...

The Greencastle Civic League's Splash Park Project is one step closer to being built, thanks to the recent donation of $5,000 from the Teachers Credit Union. Putnam County was among 54 Hoosier counties suffering a decline in population during the period 2011-12, the Indiana Business Research Center (IBRC) reported Friday. Population in Putnam County, which had reached a high of 37,963 with the April 2010 Census, has dipped each of the succeeding years, according to population estimates released by the U.S. Census Bureau and analyzed by the IBRC at Indiana University's Kelley School of Business...
