Silent auction fundraiser set Saturday at Moose Lodge for GHS football

The Greencastle High School silent auction football fundraiser is set for 6-10 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 10 at the Moose Lodge, 212 W. Franklin St. This will be the third year for the silent auction fundraiser. Budget cutbacks at the school have made it hard for the athletic teams to receive funding for their sport. The cost of a single varsity football helmet is now more than $250 and the team has more than 50 players this year...

The new field being installed at DePauw University's Blackstock Stadium will be named to honor Nick Mourouzis, an icon of the school's athletics program and its all-time leader in football coaching victories, the university announced Wednesday. North Putnam to reinstate 35-hour work week for non-certified employees

During Tuesday's special meeting of the North Putnam School Board, members decided to retract their intent of cutting hours of teach-ers' aides from 35 hours to 29-hour weeks.
