Dr. Perry Wainman recently celebrated with his family, staff and members of the Greater Greencastle Chamber of Commerce as his practice moved back into its old 125 E. Washington St. home. The practice had been displaced since a May 17, 2013 fire that damaged much of the downtown Greencastle block. Representing the practice were Lisa Wood, Rose Wainman, Sean Garner, Janet Hopson, Dr. Wainman, Twyla Beaty, Jayne Bray, Michelle Thornburg, Becky Criss and Amy Chew.

Kiwanis Keynoter

The Kiwanis Club of Greencastle welcomed Sharon Pitcock, executive director of the Putnam County Senior Center, to its July 24 meeting. Pitcock, flanked by club president Justin Long (right) and program chairman Pat Aikman, shared how the Senior Center's budget clothing, convalescent equipment, modified exercise classes, health screenings and Friday meals have helped residents of the Putnam County community. Kiwanis is an international service organization that focuses on the needs of communities and children. The local club meets at noon each Thursday at the Inn at DePauw. Everyone is welcome to attend a meeting to learn more.

Quaint quilt top offers both history and mystery at fair

Marian Ruth Jeffers Cruz was born in Bloomington and raised in Anderson, Ind. She graduated from Anderson Senior High School in 1965 and from Wishard (Marion County General Hospital) in 1971. She continued to work as a registered nurse at Wishard Hospital for 40 years. She saw and helped to implement many changes over the years.
