Jimmy Kimmel, host and executive producer of the Emmy Award-winning "Jimmy Kimmel Live!", the longest running late-night talk show in ABC's history, is coming to DePauw University on Saturday, November 8. Presented by the Timothy and Sharon Ubben Lecture Series, "An Evening with Jimmy Kimmel" will take place during ArtsFest, DePauw's annual week-long celebration of the arts, which has a 2014 theme of "Art & Laughter."...

CLOVERDALE--The Cloverdale seventh-grade volleyball team won the Putnam County Tourney Saturday. The Clovers defeated North Putnam 25-16, 26-9. The Clovers defeated Greencastle in the championship game 25-13, 25-13. Leading the service line for the Clovers were Makenzie Stoltz with 15 points, Morgan Goss with 14 points, Macie Jones with 13 points, Sammie Shrum with five points, Hayley Thomas and Kacey Shedron with four points each...

CRAWFORDSVILLE -- A successful Greencastle Tiger Cubs boy's tennis team made it to the Crawfordsville regional after winning the Northview sectional Saturday. They faced the Crawfordsville Athenians. Greencastle was supposed to compete at Crawfordsville, but atmospheric conditions forced the match to be moved to Wabash College at the indoor tennis complex...

County Jail Several people were booked into the Putnam County Jail recently. At 12:03 a.m. on Sunday, Meagen Nichole Anderson, 23, Cloverdale, as charged with failure to appear. At 3:40 a.m., Clint Joseph Byrd, 18, Greencastle, was arrested for minor in consumption and public intoxication...

The Greencastle sectional began this week for the Lady Cougars and the Lady Tiger Cubs and both teams had been preparing for a showdown at Greencastle. The Lady Tiger Cubs played a Cascade team who many in the area thought would be a nice challenge for anyone, while the Lady Cougars played Southmont, which they had beaten twice earlier in the year...

The Jacob Duncan Trio will play Jazz at The Duck from 8:30-10:30 p.m. Thursday at the Inn at DePauw's Fluttering Duck. Duncan is a saxophonist and composer based in the Louisville area. His work has taken him all over the world in formats from a jazz trio to his avant garde large ensemble Liberation Prophecy. These projects have produced multiple CD recordings and also a video series titled "Liberation Living Room."...

Welcome to our world, eighth-graders. The harsh reality of facing tight budgets, growing housing and utility costs, insurance needs, future goals and innumerable obstacles along the way emerged as an object lesson Monday for area eighth-graders. More than 550 students from Greencastle, Cloverdale, Eminence, North Putnam and South Putnam descended upon the fairgrounds Monday for the annual Reality Experience, sponsored by the Greencastle Kiwanis Club in conjunction with the local Lions and Rotary clubs, Kappa Delta Phi and Delta Theta Tau philanthropic sororities, League of Women Voters, Youth Development Commission, local real estate, insurance, banking and justice system representatives.. ...
