ROACHDALE -- As a varsity soccer player and a student athlete, one could expect North Putnam junior Kaelynn Abner to have a packed schedule. Intensity was high when North Putnam's volleyball team made the trek to Greencastle with its eyes sets on taking back the Putnam County Pride Paddle. The match was a rematch of the county championship game when GHS earned the win. North Putnam however was in for the fight of its life as GHS stormed back into the match after going down two set but NPHS gained its composure in the fifth and final set and took the win 15-13...

The Greencastle tennis team knows how to handle business and while the Tiger Cubs have no seniors they plowed through Owen Valley, Northview and South Vermillion en route to their second-straight sectional title. "I am so happy for these guys," GHS coach Kevin Rowe said. "The fact that we are back to back sectional champions after having five of our seven varsity players graduate speaks to the amount of work these guys put in. We made Greencastle High School tennis history today."...

Glenda Bell (Little) Combs, age 75, of Franklin, passed away Sept. 30 at Johnson Memorial Hospital. She was born Jan. 30, 1940 at Saint Elizabeth Hospital to Glenn and Velma (McKinley) Little in the town of Lafayette. Glenda and Charlie lost their father at young ages when he was in 1945 during WWII leaving Velma to raise the girls on her own. Glenda grew up in Indiana where she graduated from Buck Creek School...
