The Kim Archer Band, featuring Greencastle native Kim Archer, will perform live at The Swizzle Stick on Thursday, Oct. 8 from 8-11 p.m. Kicking off 2015 with a tour from Seattle to Los Angeles and back, Archer set the tone for what has been a busy year. The DePauw University Jazz Ensemble, led by conductor Steven Snyder, will present its first performance of the 2015-16 season on Wednesday, Oct. 7. The concert, titled "From Classics to Moderns," will feature three works created for big band since 1999, and three composed between 1962 and 1965. LaVaughn Patten, 88, Cloverdale, passed away on Saturday, Oct. 3, 2015 at IU Methodist Hospital, Indianapolis. She was born Dec. 5, 1926 in Owen County, and was the daughter of the late Harold H. "Banty" Smith and Eva Madonna (Hart) Smith. She married Robert "Bob" M. Patten on Aug. 23, 1951, and he preceded her in death on Sept. 26, 2008...

Barbara Ann Bridges, 77, of Greencastle, passed away on Sunday, Oct. 4, 2015. She was born on Nov. 7, 1937 in Rockville to Alonzo and Lelah Burkett Harney. Barbara was a graduate of Greencastle High School, and had been employed at Jim Harris Chevrolet; the DePauw University Union Building; was a house mother at Delta Tau Delta; and most recently at the Greencastle Walmart Store...

Shaun Robert Richardson, 24, of Worthington, passed away Sunday, Oct. 4, 2015. He was born in Bloomington Dec. 21, 1990 to William Richardson and Kim (Minks) Thatcher. He attended Owen Valley High School. He worked as a free lance construction worker. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, John Deere, big trucks and the outdoors.
