Jason Ray "Wolfie" Capps, 34, of Greencastle, passed away on Tuesday, Nov. 17, 2015. Born Feb. 13, 1981 in Greencastle, he was the son of Raymond J. Capps and Brenda K. (Harvey) Wood. He was a 2000 graduate of Greencastle High School. Jason had worked at the dining facilities at Longden Hall of DePauw University...

MOUNT MERIDIAN -- A family escaped injury after a Mount Meridian home caught fire Thursday afternoon. Area fire departments responded to a residential structure fire at 5699 E. U.S. 40 just before 3:15 p.m. Within an hour, seven area fire departments were on scene helping to battle the blaze...

The Gleaners Food Bank will again bring its mobile pantry truck to the parking lot of the Bainbridge Community Building on Saturday, Nov. 21. Food distribution is from 10 a.m. until noon and is for anyone in need with no age requirement. Participants are asked to bring their own boxes or food bags and to dress according to the weather since the delivery site will be in the parking lot directly from the truck...

County Jail Several people have been booked into the Putnam County Jail recently. At 1:08 p.m. on Tuesday, Wayne Allen Adams, 42, Poland, was arrested for probation violation. At 2 p.m. Kendra Michelle Rasnake, 28, Greencastle, was lodged at the jail on a Boone County warrant...
