BAINBRIDGE -- Democrat John Gregg brought his gubernatorial campaign to Bainbridge Sunday afternoon as the Putnam County Democratic Party kicked off its 2016 campaign. With an estimated 175 people gathered at the Bainbridge Community Center, Gregg discarded the more whimsical mustache-centric campaign that marked his 2012 run at the Indiana governor's office for a more serious, issues-dominated effort...

The Cloverdale baseball team got the better of the Eagles Monday with a 6-3 win at South Putnam. South Putnam got on the scoreboard early with a runs in the first, third and fifth. Down 3-0 however the Clovers saved their best for last scoring four runs in the sixth inning and two more in the seventh for good. measure...

Alton Carney Trusler, 73, of East Lyme, Conn., died Tuesday, March 29, 2016 in New London, Conn. He was born July 25, 1942, in Connersville, Ind., the son of Milton S. Trusler and Mary Carney Trusler. He is survived by his loving wife, Virginia Kay Trusler, his lifetime companion and best friend. Together they shared childhood memories; a marriage of 53 years...

The Tiger Cub baseball team had a tough time in its home opener Monday falling 14-1 to Edgewood. All the damage was done early in the match. The Mustangs scored 9 in the first inning and five in the fifth. Greencastle only managed one run in the third and the young team fell at home. GHS coach Troy Remsburg said his team is young and could experience growing pains however the Tiger Cubs have a refuse to quit attitude and a bunco of young sluggers...
