A 23-year-old Greencastle man received a nine-year sentence Thursday as a result of a plea agreement in a 2015 rape case. Anthony Michael Lewis accepted an agreement in which he pleaded guilty as charged to rape, while the Putnam County Prosecutor's Office consented to capping any initial executed sentence at six years in prison...

Doris Ileene Stites, 94, of Greencastle, passed away Thursday, Aug. 4, 2016. She was born April 28, 1922 to the late Arthur Morgan and Helen Mae Ash Geabes. She married Kenneth C. Stites on May 12, 1948. He passed away on Dec. 26, 1968. She worked for White Cleaners and Laundry, A&P Grocery Store, and eventually JC Penney, retiring from there after 32½ years in October 1983...
