William “Bill” Lee Danhour, 71, passed away Thursday, May 16, 2019 at Regional Hospital in Terre Haute with his family by his side. He was born in Brazil on July 4, 1947 to the late Herman and Clara Ina (Raab) Danhour. Bill graduated from Reelsville High School in 1965, and served his country in the United States Marines during the Vietnam War, and came home to marry Connie McCullough on Oct. 25, 1969...

The Putnam County Community Foundation has announced that Share the Dream 2019 is set to begin. This year, 23 charitable organizations, scholarships and endowments will be participating. Share the Dream 2019 will run from May 1 to Aug. 1 and guarantees a 60-cent match to every dollar raised by the participating endowments. Each endowment must receive 10 donations of $25 or more...

Author and education consultant Maggie Schein is joining the Prindle Institute for Ethics as its first writer in residence. Her two-year residency, which begins July 1, will be supported by a $100,000 grant from the Andrew W. Mellon Foundation.
