CLAYTON — Cloverdale quarterback Jake Smith scored a running touchdown in the fourth quarter to account for the lone Cloverdale score in a 51-6 loss to Cascade. The Cadets took a 14-0 lead after one quarter, a 21-0 lead at halftime and a 44-0 advantage after three quarters. They also added a touchdown and an extra point in the final period.

The South Putnam Eagles had a big night against their county rival, Greencastle, on Friday night. The Eagle football team coming off of their first loss of the season used a balanced attack and a stingy defense to improve to 3-1 with a 22-16 victory over the Tiger Cubs. It was a county rivalry, a Western Indiana Conference game and homecoming for the Eagles. South improved its WIC record to 1-1, while Greencastle is now 2-2 on the season and 0-2 in WIC play...
