Eagles battle No. 2 University tough in tourney finals (High School Sports ~ 12/30/19)
MONROVIA – The South Putnam Eagle Lady Eagles had the formidable task of taking on the Class 2 No. 2-ranked University Trailblazers in the championship game of the Monrovia Lady Bulldogs Holiday Classic on Monday night. The Eagles did not come home with the championship, but they certainly may have earned a ton of respect from people who watched the game. South played the Blazers evenly until just over four minutes were left in the game before eventually falling 62-46 to a team that started two players over six feet tall and came into the game 15-0 after beating 3A Bishop Chatard in the afternoon game. The Eagles' record is now 9-4. -
Franklin D. R. Boehm Sr. (Obituary ~ 12/30/19)
Franklin D. R. Boehm Sr., age 80, passed away Friday, Dec. 20, 2019 at Putnam County Hospital. He was born in Covington, Ky. on March 10, 1939 to Charles and Mary Boehm. He did a three-and-a-half-year stint in the Army and was honorably discharged of all his duties, and then made a career out of being out on the road.
