ROACHDALE -- A 93-year-old Roachdale man died late Tuesday afternoon when the utility terrain vehicle he was driving collided with an SUV on State Road 236. Avery Hopkins was thrown from the Kubota UTV and later succumbed to his injuries. Earl Eugene “Gene” Clodfelter, 86, passed away on Monday, Aug. 10, 2020 at home surrounded by his family, after a two-year fight with cancer. Born Jan. 14, 1934 to Mary V. (Brothers) and Dennis V. Clodfelter at his farm homestead near Fincastle, Gene had one sister, Sue Ann Carroll of Crawfordsville, who survives. The farm was honored as a Hoosier Homestead Centennial Farm in 2016, for being in the same family for more than 100 years...
