CLOVERDALE — Accused of entering a woman’s rented room as she slept and trying to get her to engage in sexual acts, a Cloverdale hotel owner is facing two felonies. Depenbhai Patel, 37, owner of the Cloverdale Days Inn, is alleged to have entered the woman’s room at the hotel on the evening of Oct. 20, at which time she said touched her and tried to get her to grant him sexual favors. Paul L. “Lanny” Parker, 78, Indianapolis, passed away Monday, Oct. 26, 2020 following a brief illness. Lanny was born Feb. 8, 1942 in New Castle, the son of Paul and Lola (Fuqua) Parker. He graduated from Bainbridge High School in 1960 and then obtained his Bachelor of Science and master’s degree in education at Indiana State University, where he was a member of Sigma Phi Epsilon fraternity.
