The North Putnam Cougar volleyball team rode a wave of emotion and a hot start on Senior Night to take down county rivalry, Greencastle in Putnam County and Western Indiana Conference action on Thursday. As an overcast sky looms overhead, riders take off on the 62- and 40-mile portions of the Pedal Putnam bike race Saturday morning at Big Walnut Sports Park. The gray skies would soon prove prescient, as a downpour soon swept through the area shortly after the 12-mile race started. Even with rains continuing for much of the morning, more than 90 races finished between the three different distances of the race.
