Paul E. Buechler Jr., 82, Greencastle, died Monday evening at Putnam County Hospital.

Born in Chicago, he was the son of Emil Paul and Marjorie (Schuler) Buechler.

He had worked in sales for many years in heating and cooling. He was a member of Gobin Memorial United Methodist Church, and the Greencastle Lions Club, in which he served as president for two years.

A U.S. Navy Air Force veteran of World War II, he had owned and operated the Kreeme Kastle in Greencastle from 1949-59.

He married Dottie Bagby on June 28, 1947. She survives.

Also surviving are a son, David Buechler and wife Peggy, Greencastle; a sister, Betty Cooley, Punta Gorda, Fla.; daughter-in-law Debbie Buechler Wacahl and husband John, Greencastle; five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and son Brian Lee Buechler.

A memorial service is set for noon Friday at Gobin Memorial United Methodist Church, Greencastle, with Pastor Larry Burton officiating.

Inurnment will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Forest Hill Cemetery.

Bittles and Hurt Funeral Home, Greencastle, is handling arrangements.
