Roy H. Allen, 77, Cloverdale, died Sunday at his residence.

Born in Putnam County, he was the son of Hancel Cleo and Mary Sarah (Williamson) Allen.

A U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War, he was retired owner operator of Custom Contractor, Indianapolis, and was formerly employed at Engineering Metals of Indianapolis.

He was a member of Knightsville Church of Christ and Brazil American Legion Post 2.

He married Mary Taylor on Oct. 30, 1953. She survives.

Also surviving are three daughters, Teresa Fry and husband Russell, Indianapolis, Myra Walker and husband Dennis, Plainfield, and Janet Davis and husband Sam, Mooresville; two sons, Pat Allen and wife Anna, Mooresville, and Randy Allen and wife Lori, Plainfield; two sisters, Essie McVey and husband Charles, Cloverdale, and Lenora McEvoy and husband John, Mooresville; 17 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and son Mark Allen, on Aug. 4, 1992.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Whitaker Funeral Home, Cloverdale, with Bro. Rob Dispenneti officiating. Burial will be in White Lick Cemetery, Mooresville.

Visitation is 4-9 p.m. Tuesday.
