Forrest M. Coleman, 92, Greencastle, formerly of Waveland, died Tuesday at his residence.
Born in Judson, Ind., he was the son of Ray and Myrtle (Akers) Coleman. He graduated from Greene Township High School and was an honorary member of the Waveland High School Alumni Association.
He married Ruth Elizabeth Spencer on May 26, 1934, in Watseka, Ill.
He worked as a grocer for 45 years at Portland Mills, Byron, and from 1947-1978, owned and operated Coleman Grocery and Locker, Waveland.
He was a member of the Waveland Covenant United Methodist Church and the Waveland Masonic Lodge 300. He was also a member of the Waveland Order of Eastern Star No. 539 and the Scottish Rite, Indianapolis. He was a past member of the Waveland Fire Dept.
Survivors include two daughters, Ann Hastey, Scottsbluff, Neb., and Linda Johnston, Northbrook, Ill.; brother Kenneth W. Coleman, Waveland; sister Pauline Baird, Roachdale; four grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, parents, and a brother, James Coleman.
Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at Machledt and Servies Funeral Home, Waveland, with the Rev. Lester Niles officiating.
Burial will be at the Mt. Moriah Cemetery.
Visitation is from 5-8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
