Anita M. Poole, 89, Greencastle, formerly of Indianapolis, died Friday.

Born in Madisonville, Ky., she was the daughter of Richard Edward and Lorena M. (Hall) Moore.

A graduate of Madisonville High School, she earned her bachelor of science degree from Bowling Green (Ky.) State Teachers College and her master's degree from Butler University in Indianapolis.

A resident of Indianapolis from 1948-87, she retired from Belzer Junior High School in 1979 as a teacher, and was then employed with Conner Prairie in Noblesville.

She married David Gray Poole, who preceded her in death.

Surviving are two sons, David L. Poole and wife Dorian, Palatine, Ill., and Richard T. Poole and wife Mary Lynn, Vincennes; a daughter, Anita L. Edenfield and husband George, Greencastle; seven grandchildren and a niece.

She was preceded in death by her husband, brothers William Edward, Norvall Hall and Lawrence Moore, and two grandchildren.

Graveside services will be at 1:30 p.m. Friday at Washington Park East Cemetery, Indianapolis, with Rev. Larry Burton officiating.

Visitation is 9-11 a.m. Friday at Bittles and Hurt Funeral Home, Greencastle.
