Randy L. Merriett, 49, Cloverdale, died Saturday at Danville Regional Rehabilitation.

Born in Aiken, S.C., he was the son of Stephen N. and Helen (Mason) Merriett.

He was a maintenance mechanic in the U.S. Air Force until 1986. He was a member of Emmaus Community and the Cloverdale United Methodist Church. He was a leader dog trainer and raised lead dog puppies for the blind.

On April 14, 1984 he married Robyn A. Pickering. She survives.

Also surviving are his mother; children Phillip Merriett, Kristy Hall and David Merriett; siblings Stephen Merriett Jr., Harold Merriett and Michael Merriett; a grandchild and two nieces.

He was preceded in death by his father.

A memorial service is set for Saturday at Cloverdale Unite Methodist Church.

Arrangements are being handled by Leppert Mortuary, Nora Chapel, Indianapolis.
