Murlin E. (Rossok) Handy, 75, died Monday at Mill Pond Helath Campus.

Born in Putnam County, she was the daughter of Pearl and Edward Rossok.

A 1948 graduate of Greencastle High School, she earned a registered nurse degree from Indianapolis Methodist Hospital, graduating in 1951. She was a nurse at Methodist and Putnam County hospitals.

She was a member of First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) Greencastle; a 50-plus-year member of Kappa Delta Pi sorority, a 50-year member of Modern Mother's Study Club and current president; Methodist Hospital School of Nursing Alumni Association, Greencastle Century Club, Greencastle High School Alumni Association, and Putnam County Hospital Guild.

She married Norman L. Handy on Nov. 30, 1952 at Gobin Memorial United Methodist Church, Greenastle. He survives.

Also surviving are sons, Jon D. Handy and wife Tamara, Fillmore, and Bernard T. Handy and wife Annette, Greencastle; sister Doreen Braden, Greencastle; and three grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, sister Carol Jean Rossook Burk, brother Gaylord Rossok, and an infant brother.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Bittles and Hurt Funeral Home, Greencastle, with Rev. Paul Taylor officiating. Burial will be in Forest Hill Cemetery.

A life celebration will occur during visitation from 4-8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
