Bonnie Engle, 68, Greencastle, died Thursday evening at Mill Pond Health Campus.

Arrangements are pending at Chandler-Hays Funeral Home, Greencastle.

Dec. 6, 1910-June 5, 2006

Wilma S. Spencer, 95, of Crawfordsville, Waveland and Russellville, died Monday at St. Vincent Hospital, Indianapolis.

Born in Aldon, Iowa, she was the daughter of Orlando G. and Ethel L. Hostetler Swanay.

A 1929 graduate of Waveland High School, she was retired from the Russellville Bank. She was a member of Wabash Avenue Presbyterian Church at Crawfordsville.

She married George M. Spencer on Sept. 19, 1930 at Waveland. He died Nov. 29, 1983.

Surviving are two daughters, Martha Leyda and husband Bill, Burlington, Wis., and Mary S. Moore and husband Tom, Crawfordsville; a son, George Spencer and wife Judy, Waveland; eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, daughter Margaret Payne, and three sisters.

Graveside services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Maple Ridge Cemetery, Waveland, with Rev. Velma Keesling officiating.

There will be no visitation.

Memorial contributions should be made to the charity of the donor's choice.

Machledt and Servies Funeral Home, Waveland, is handling arrangements.

Dec. 25, 1913-June 5, 2006

Dorothy L. Sutherlin, 82, Duncanville, Texas, formerly of Greencastle, died Monday in Texas.

She was the daughter of James and Verna (Freeman) Plessinger, and was a 1932 graduate of Greencastle High School.

She married Marshall Sutherlin on Oct. 16, 1933. He preceded her in death.

Surviving are a son, James F. Sutherlin and wife Carolyn, Duncanville, Texas; brother Leland Plessinger and wife Jo; three sisters Bernice Zimmerman, Greencastle, Mary Keller and Doris Meador, both of Sycamore, Ill.; a granddaughter, a great-grandson and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was preceded in death by son, Mike Sutherlin, three brothers, a sister and a granddaughter.

Services were conducted Friday in Texas.

Feb. 7, 1933-June 7, 2006

Damita Rae Lyon, 73, Greencastle, Wednesday at Putnam County Hospital.

Born in Clay County, she was the daughter of Sherman R. and Ruby V. (Belk) Nichols.

She attended school in Brazil.

On February 20, 1953 she married Kenneth M. Lyon. He survives.

Also surviving are children, Kenny W. Lyon and wife Dan, Greencastle, Kennetta E. Nuckols and husband George, Brazil, and Karen K. Pingleton and husband Phil, Greencastle; sisters Carol Bussing, Center Point, Angela Parkins and husband Jerry, Tennessee, Nikki Yocom and husband Joe, Janet Riddell and husband George, and Cindy Hedges, all of Brazil; brothers, Sherman W. Nichols and wife Caroline, Brazil, and Marion R. Nichols and wife Paula, Princeton; six grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, and several nieces, nephews.

She was preceded in death by her father, mother, stepfather and stepmother.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at French Funeral Home with Pastor Alan Small officiating. Burial will follow in Croys Creek Cemetery.

Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Friday and prior to services Saturday.

Oct. 2, 1925-June 7, 2006

Elizabeth Rae (McGaughey) Zediker, 80, Crawfordsville, died Wednesday at Lafayette Home Hospital.

Born in Russellville, she was the daughter of Raymond and Jessie (Killion) McGaughey.

She was a graduate of Russellville High School and attended Lake Forest College in Illinois.

She retired from federal services at Indianapolis, Camp Atterbury, Great Lakes and Portsmouth, Va. She was a member of Athens Eastern Star in Crawfordsville, Ladies Oriental Shrine of North America, Eagles in South San Francisco, Calif., and Russellville Community Church.

She married William C. Garton, who preceded her in death. She later married William Zediker in California. He also preceded her in death.

Surviving are nine nephews including Ray, Ted, Doug and Cary McGaughey, all of Russellville, and seven nieces including Nancy McGaughey and Deanna Carrington, both of Russellville.

She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers Clay and Don McGaughey, and two nieces.

Services will be announced at a later date.
