Clark E. Alkire, 66, Stilesville, died Saturday at his residence.

Born in Lafayette, he was the son of Russell and Iris (Crane) Alkire.

A 1957 graduate of Goodland High School, he attended Purdue University. He had resided in Little Point, Camby and Goodland, and was a member of Fairfield Friends Meeting. He was a member of Cloud Niners Flying Club, Indianapolis Ski Club, Indianapolis American Legion, Christmas Tree and Bramble Growers Associations and the Indiana Farm Market Association.

He had owned and operated Alkire Acres for 10 years, was a superintendent and engineer for White Construction in Clinton for 27 years, and had worked for H.E. Henderson Construc-tion in Martinsville for one year. He retired in 2005.

He married Emma Boren on Oct. 27, 1962. She survives.

Also surviving are two daughters, April Stevens and husband Bob, Monrovia, and Anita Hickam and husband Brad, Avon; two sisters, Marsha Hufty, Lafayette, and Gloria Gilman, Brooklyn; brother Malvin Alkire, Kentland; and five grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by brother Eric Alkire.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Jones Family Mortuary, Mooresville, with Bob Garris officiating. Burial will be in Fairfield Cemetery, Camby.

Visitation is 2-8 p.m. Tuesday and one hour prior to services Wednesday.
