Hilda M. Funkhouser Price, 78, Danville, died Monday at Hendricks Regional Health.

Born in Morristown, she was the daughter of Othel and Jewell (Hine) Funkhouser.

She was a receptionist at the Weaver and Randolph Funeral Home for the past 14 years. Prior to that, she had been a cashier at the Danville High School cafeteria and a school bus aide. She had worked in the custodial departments at the Hendricks County Courthouse and Danville South Elementary School and in the laundry department at the former Tendercare Nursing Home, Danville. She was also a bus driver for North Putnam Schools and worked at RCA in Indianapolis.

She was a member of the Whitestown American Legion Post Ladies Auxiliary.

Survivors include children Marvin Price, Brownsburg, Marley Price, Jacksonville, Fla., Darlene Mendenhall and Marlene Doub, both of Danville; brothers Don D. Funkhouser, Brownsburg, and Vance D. Funkhouser, North Vernon; sister Phoneal B. Funkhouser, Avon; nine grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by two granddaughters and a sister.

Services will take place at 10 a.m. Friday at Weaver and Randolph Funeral Home, Danville, with Pastor Michael Thornburg officiating. Burial will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery, Lebanon.

Visitation is from 4-8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
