Evan P. Penturf, 79, Greencastle, died Saturday at Autumn Glen, Greencastle.

Born in Evanston, Ill., he was the son of Henry E. and Anna J. (Welter) Penturf. He married Carol Ann Smith on Dec. 18, 1954. She preceded him in death.

He graduated from high school in 1944 and from Northwestern University in 1952. While at Northwestern, he was a member of Zeta Psi Fraternity.

He was an engineer for P.R. Mallory for 23 years, retiring in 1989. He also was a World War Army veteran.

Survivors include two sons, David E. Penturf and wife Sheila, and Steven P. Penturf and wife Teresa, both of Greencastle; and one daughter Judith L. Everts and husband David, Crawfordsville.

He was preceded in death by his wife and parents.

Services will take place at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the Hopkins-Rector Funeral Home, Greencastle, with Chaplain Patrick Larracey officiating.

Visitation is from 4-8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
