Lenora Lee Acree Kearschner, 79 Brazil, died Friday at Union Hospital.

Born in Clay County, she was the daughter of Walter Maurey, Sr. and Betty Fisher Maurey.

She was a 1945 graduate of Brazil High School.

She was a member of the Eastern Star in Knightsville and the Shrine in Terre Haute. She had been a member of the Carbon Baptist Church for several years. She married William Acree, and he preceded her in death in 1989. In September 1990, she married Walter G. Kearschner. He preceded her in death May 10, 2000.

Survivors include her sons, James W. Acree and friend Norma Batchelor, and Robert L. Acree and wife Judy, all of Brazil, Gary G. Acree and wife Jackie, Manchester, Mich.; stepsons Dr. Ronald G. Kearschner and wife Jan, Salem, Ronald E. Kearschner and wife Sherry, Brazil; sister Ruth Miller; 11 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; son John Joseph Acree; her first husband William F. Acree; second husband Walter Kearschner; two brothers, Walter Maurey Jr. and Kenneth Maurey; and one grandson.

Services were conducted at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Lawson-Miller Chapel, Brazil, with Pastor Howard Hughes officiating. Burial will follow at Calcutta Cemetery.
