Elizabeth Ensign, 104, Greencastle, died Friday evening at Asbury Towers.
Born in Greencastle, she was the daughter of George E. and Jennie (Spangler) Ensign.
A graduate of New Ross High School, she attended DePauw University and Central Business College. She had worked for First Citizens Bank and Trust Co. for 45 years, retiring in 1967 as a vice president. She was a long-time member of Gobin United Methodist Church and the United Methodist Women's Club. She was also a member of Theta chapter of Delta Theta Tau and Crescent Club, and a former member of Greencastle BPW. She volunteered for the Putnam County Hospital Guild, RSVP, Contact and Latchkey. She was the secretary of the board for the Allison Children's Home from 1956-72.
Surviving are several cousins, including Jim Hester of Greencastle.
She was preceded in death by her parents, brother Gwin Ensign and sister Mary Ensign.
Memorial services will be conducted at a later date at Asbury Towers.
