Cloverdale runners get win over Bruins

Cloverdale's boys' cross country team picked up a dominating victory over Tri-West at home on Thursday.

Cloverdale took five of the top six spots in the race, downing the Bruins, 18-36.

Craig Blair finished in first place with a time of 18 minutes, 38 seconds.

He was 12 seconds ahead of second-place Darin Coffey of Tri-West, who crossed the finish line at the 18:50 mark.

Ryan Dean of Cloverdale was third with a time of 19:13, and teammate Kyle Chambers was fourth at 20:12.

Kabe Mattocks finished in fifth place with a time of 20:17, and James Fidler was sixth, also crossing the finish line at the 20:17 mark.

Nick Monds of Cloverdale placed 11th with a time of 21:29, and Zach Waycott was 13th at 21:46.

Brian Stout finished in 16th place with a time of 24:07.

There was no girls' race Thursday, as Tri-West did not field a girls' team.

The Clovers will be in action again on Monday at 4 p.m. when they visit the South Putnam Eagles.
