GHS looking for sixth win against Cascade

The Greencastle Tiger Cubs will go for their sixth win of the season on Friday night when they host the Cascade Cadets for West Central Conference action.

The Tiger Cubs (5-2, 3-2 WCC) will play its final conference game of the season on Friday against a formidable Cascade team.

The Cadets (6-1, 4-1 WCC) have suffered just one loss this season, a 28-13 loss to the North Putnam Cougars in the third week of the season.

Greencastle, meanwhile, has suffered just a pair of losses this season, both to strong conference opponents.

It dropped a 40-26 loss to the Speedway Sparkplugs in the season's second week before falling to North Putnam 48-7 on Sept. 22.

The Tiger Cubs have not defeated the Cadets since the 2002 campaign when they dominated Cascade, 63-20.

Greencastle enters Friday's game after defeating county foe Cloverdale last week, 41-14.

The Tiger Cubs' quarterback, Cal Gard, had a huge night, completing 29 of 35 passes and throwing for four touchdowns on the night.

Gard also tallied 241 yards in the air against the Clovers.

At one point, Gard connected on 16 consecutive pass attempts in the contest against Cloverdale.

Greencastle and Cascade will face off at Robert L. Harbison stadium on Friday for the Tiger Cubs' homecoming game at 7 p.m.
