Halloween social event at Russellville center

The Russellville Community Center will host its seventh annual Halloween Social on Saturday, Oct. 28.

Supper will begin at 5 p.m. and will include chili, hot dogs, coneys, sloppy joes, nachos and cheese, brownies, pies, tea, lemonade, soft drinks and fresh apple cider.

Registration for the masquerade is from 5:30-6:45 p.m. with the winners being announced promptly at 7 p.m. There are 10 different categories and six cash prices will be given in each category. There will also be a $30 grand prize winner and a $20 reserve prize winner. The categories will be Best Character, Best Halloween Character, Animal, Prettiest, Ugliest, Best Group/ Couple, Funniest, Miscell-aneous, Best Bible Character and Most Original.

After the masquerade there will be a carnival, a haunted hayride and a country store. Some of the other games will include swamp pond, bean bag toss, ring toss, fortune teller, bingo, toilet paper toss, ghostly golf, sucker tree, football toss and bonebreaker jail. Two bicycles will be raffled and a 50-50 drawing will be conducted.

This year's prize money has been donated by the following individuals and businesses -- Wiatt Seed Service, Russ Evans, Jim Baird, Indiana Home Care Plus, Mitch Proctor, Ron's Wrecker Service, Greencas-tle Physical Therapy, Wabash Capital, Tri. Co. Bank, Bugle Valley Elk Farm, Midland, and Kathi and Jim Elliott.
