Thomas Guy Mullenix

Thomas Guy Mullenix, 77, Carbon, died Friday at Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis.
Born in Clay County, he was the son of Ross "Jack" Mullenix and Ella Dalton Harris Mullenix.
He attended Van Buren High School before entering the U.S. Army. He worked on the family farm and at Arketex, and worked most of his life as a heavy equipment operator for Local 841 on job sites for several construction companies including, Ralph Rogers Construction, Martin Marietta, Pike Lumber and SL Turner Coal Company.
He married Margaret Ann "Peg" Hunter on April 16, 1954. She survives.
Also surviving are sons, Thomas Guy Mullenix Jr. and wife Lori, Brazil, Timmy Ray Mullenix and wife Jennifer, Carbon, Terry Lee Mullenix and wife Sheri, Reelsville, and Todd Allen Mullenix and wife Tina, Carbon; a brother, Zeb Mullenix and wife Rosalee, Carbon; sister Mary Frances Warren, Nevada; 13 grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, many nieces, nephews and extended family.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Ross Mullinix, four halfsisters Helen Harris Thompson, Anna Harris Wilson, Kathryn Harris Wilson, and Lucille Harris Norman, and son Teddy Gene Mullenix in 1987.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Lawson-Miller Chapel, Brazil. Burial will follow at Calcutta Cemetery.
Visitation will be 5-8 p.m. Monday and Tuesday prior to services.
