Glen Edward Miller, 83, rural Palestine, Ill., died Saturday at Cotillion Ridge Nursing Center, Robinson, Ill.

Born in Palestine, Ill., he was the son of Roy and Blanche (Walters) Miller.

He was a member of the Pleasant View Church for more than 50 years and a World War II veteran, serving in the Army from 1943-34 on the Europan front.

He, along with his father and brother, owned and operated Roy Miller and Sons Garage, later known as Roy Miller's Sons Garage, from 1946-81.

After retiring from the garage, he was a farmer until his death.

He married Naomi Ruth Browning on Oct. 10, 1942. She preceded him in death.

Survivors include daughter Linda Adams and husband Clifford, Palestine; sons Steve Miller and wife Sharon, Palestine, and Doug Miller and wife Pat, Greencastle; brother Clarence Miller and wife Marjorie, Palestine; 13 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, and sister Pauline.

Services will take place at 10:30 a.m., Saturday at Pleasant View Church, rural Palestine, with Rev. Tom Akers officiating. Burial will be in the Pleasant View Cemetery.

Military graveside services will be conducted by the combined units of the Robinson V.F.W., Post No. 4549, Robinson American Legion Post No. 69, Flat Rock American Legion Post No. 132, and Palestine AmVets No. 33.

Visitation is from 5-8 p.m. Friday at the Goodwine Funeral Home, Palestine.

Memorials may be made to the PPPS Harper House or to the Pleasant View Church.
