Dorothy Grimes

Dorothy L. (Ellis) Grimes, 94, Greencastle, died Monday at her daughter's residence in Grand Prairie, Texas, where she had been living most recently.

Born in St. Jacob, Ill., she was the daughter of Edmond W. and Orrell L. (Freed) Ellis.

She attended Highland High School and McKendree College in Lebanon, Ill., graduating with a teaching degree. She was a teacher for more than 40 years.

Surviving are three daughters, Lou Leisure and husband Mike, Grand Prairie, Texas, Sue Ochoa and husband Bill , Redding, Calif.; and Darla Oostendorp and husband John, Zeeland, Mich.; two sisters, Helen (Ellis) Gansmann, Highland, Ill., and Ruth (Ellis) Butler, Blue Mound, Ill.; eight grandchildren, six great grandchildren, and many nieces, nephews and other relatives.

She was preceded in death by her husband Robert D. Grimes, her parents, and sisters Guyneth Schoeck and Evelyn Harmon.

Services are set for 1 p.m. Tuesday at Aebischer Funeral Home, St. Jacob, Ill. Interment will follow at Keystone Cemetery.
