Melinda Ferrand

Melinda Ferrand, 67, Freedom, died Monday at The Waters of Greencastle.

Born at Greencastle, she was the daughter of Jim and Helen Hetser.

She retired in 2006 after many years in social services, most recently working at Hamilton Center and the Owen County Extension Office. She was a member of the McCormick's Creek Pentecostal Church.

Surviving are her father, Greencastle; sister Susan Sendmeyer, Cunot; three children, Toni Glassman, Houston, Texas, Paul Karch, Bloomington, and Bart Karch, Freedom; nine grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

She was preceded in death by her mother.

Services will be at noon Thursday at McCormick's Creek Pentecostal Church, with Bro. Rick Robertson officiating. Burial will be in Hudson Hill Cemetery.

Visitation is 4-8 p.m. Wednesday at West Parrish and Pedigo Funeral Home, Spencer, and 10 a.m.-noon Thursday.
