Port Charlotte, Fla. -- DePauw's baseball team collected 10 hits and scored seven runs, but it was not enough to match St. Olaf, as they fell to the ninth-ranked Oles, 17-7, in the Port Charlotte Invitational. The Tigers dropped to 10-10 on the year, while the Oles improved to 10-1.

St. Olaf sent 15 men to the plate in the second, scoring nine runs on eight hits. They were never threatened afterward. The Oles added four in the fourth, one in the fifth and three in the sixth. DePauw scored one each in the third and fifth, three in the fourth and two in the seventh. Adam Ford and Jack Gavin each had three of the Tigers' 10 hits while Matt Kleine added two.

St. Olaf tallied 18 hits, led by Carson Jones with four and Brian Astry with three. Andrew Schmiesing, Chris Terrazas, Luke Gagnon and Todd Mathison each had two. Schmiesing hit a two-run homer in the sixth and led the way with four RBI.
