A. Wayne Hamblen, 80, Bradenton, Fla., formerly of Greencastle, died Monday at Blake Medical Center in Florida.

Born in Fall River, S.D., he was the son of Glen and Edith (Ritzenthaler) Hamblen.

A U.S. Army Air Corps veteran of World War II, he was vice president of construction for National Tea Co. for 30 years, retiring in 1990. He was a member of Murat Shrine, a 32nd degree Mason, Elks Club, trustee in Trailer Estates serving for 10 years, and a North Salem High School graduate.

He married Phyllis Hobensack, and she survives.

Also surviving are son Randy Hamblen and wife Barb, Danville; daughters Amy Hamblen and Sandra Vest and husband Tim, Elwood; stepsons Michael Athey and wife Julie, Carmel, and David Athey and wife Cindy, Indianapolis; stepdaughter Diane Reynolds and husband Norm, Avon; sister Patricia Baer, Middletown; four grandchildren and a great-grandchild.

He was preceded in death by daughter Terri Lynn and an infant son.

Baker Funeral Home, Danville, is handling arrangements.
