Applications accepted for school board seat

Performing a rendition of singer Bobby McFerrin's "Don't Worry, Be Happy" were Tzouanakis Intermediate School third-graders Cade Bailey, Colin Dombrowski, Ely Bordt and Nate Pearson during the during the 2007 Puttin' on the Hits event Saturday night in McAnally Auditorium.

The Greencastle Township Trustee will be receiving applications for an appointment to the Greencastle School Board until May 3.

The seat now filled by Jack Berry is up for appointment. The four-year term begins July 1.

Anyone interested can pick up a copy of an application and guidelines from Trustee Thelma Bumgardner at 620 Tennessee St., or by calling her office at 653-5918 or her home at 653-5549.

On May 10, the trustee and township advisory board will meet to consider the candidates and select three finalists. An open session to interview the three finalists is set for 4:30 p.m. May 24 at the trustee's office.

That meeting will be open to the public.
